The corporation of the School of Synergy is managed under the name of Mosquée de Montréal.

Function:

The Board of Directors

  • Is the supreme authority of the “Mosquée de Montréal” and is the guardian of its constitution;
  • Is responsible for establishing the policy of the “Mosquée de Montréal” and must guide and direct all of its policy;
  • Has the power to make all decisions relating to the “Mosquée de Montréal” provided that such decisions do not contradict the Qur’an or the Sunnah;
  • Approves the budget and all financial transactions of the “Mosquée de Montréal”, and shall authorize and initiate fundraising;
  • Is the ultimate authority for the acquisition, disposition and lease of all movable and immovable property of the “Mosquée de Montréal”.

The school committee is a decision-making structure with specific mandates stipulated by the Education Act in a climate of partnership.

It is composed of a minimum of three parents, one representative of the Board of Directors, two representatives of the teachers.

Function

The school council has a decision-making role on several issues, including:

  • Adoption of the educational project and the school’s budget;
  • Approval of the success plan, the time allocated to each subject and the educational activities;
  • Consultation and information on the application of the pedagogical regime, the pupil supervision policy and the allocation of premises.

The school’s representative on the parent committee must be elected during the general assembly in September and must be a member of the school committee. The general assembly of the parents’ committee is usually held in October.

Function:

  • To provide advice on improvements to be made in the school with regard to the academic success of children;
  • Be consulted by the parents who sit on the school committee;
  • Giving an opinion on any matter concerning parents;
  • Carry out various projects and activities in collaboration with school staff;
  • Be involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of the school’s educational project.
